Swamp Show at the Unconvention

May 25, 2018 @ 8:00 am - May 27, 2018 @ 5:00 pm

In our Swamp Show, we’re poking fun at the excessive costs, excessive waste, and excessive excessiveness of modern leviathan government in the United States. When it comes to big, bloated, unconstitutional, regulatory government, there’s so much material from which to draw that we don’t need to resort to crude language and tawdry personal attacks.

  • Rather than calling people names and demeaning them for how they look, we joke about how results don’t matter when it comes to government policies and programs, only intentions do.
  • Audiences chuckle when we point out that the Constitution is effectively irrelevant to most people in positions of government power.
  • Everyone laughs because they know it is true when we point out that bureaucrats get bigger budgets by mastering the art of failure.

The Swamp Show is based on 25 years of researching the modern administrative state. The data presented is all true. It’s satire worthy of C.S. Lewis, Jonathan Swift, or H.L. Mencken.

In fact, some of our biggest fan are people who have worked for years in the Swamp! Far from being offended, they rush up after the show to regale us with their own stories of bureaucratic incompetence, waste, and cronyism. (If you’ve experienced a story of bad bureaucratic government, share it here.)
