Do you want to be right? Or, do you want to be happy?

April 27 @ 7:00 am - 8:30 am

Presentation for the Libertarian Party of Colorado

By Thomas L. Krannawitter, Ph.D.

President, Speakeasy Ideas

For freedom lovers across the United States and all over Colorado, it is time to choose:

Do you want to be right? Or, do you want to be happy?

If you want to be right, then continue doing precisely what you’ve been doing. Libertarians have been right, I’m tempted to say, about everything. Or, at least, almost everything.

You are among the few today in the world of politics—perhaps the only ones today—who have principles. You understand what the principles of freedom are. You study them. You test them. You know them. And you evaluate politicians and their handiwork by the standard of principles rather than vice versa.

That’s why you are right most or all of the time. It’s also why those in the political class and the large majority of American voters who support them are wrong time and again. And again. And again. And again. They don’t know what principles are and they don’t care. Aligning themselves and their politics with the principles of freedom is not their goal.

That is how things have been going for many decades in the United States. Libertarians are right while the majority uses the power of government to force upon everyone unjust, immoral, counterproductive, usually harmful policies & programs. And some of you are content with congratulating yourselves on being right while everything around you becomes worse.

Other freedom lovers, however, are not content merely with being right. They want more. They want to be happy. And they know they cannot be happy until their own freedom and the freedom of others is secure.

These are the kinds of Libertarians who don’t want to keep doing things the same way. They want to be more effective advocates for freedom. They want to be movers, shakers, & culture shapers. They want to be more strategic, more influential. They’re tired of listening to good intentions. They want to see actual results for freedom.

IF you care about freedom, IF you want more than to be right, IF you want to be happy by becoming a causal agent for real improvement, then join us on Saturday morning, April 27, at 7:00 am, at the Hotel Eleganté and Conference Center in Colorado Springs. We will join Dr. Thomas Krannawitter, President of Speakeasy Ideas, in a discussion of what has not been tried because it might actually work!

And, for those who are content to pat themselves on the back for being right, stay home and be warm under your blankets. Just please don’t complain to us when the world is not how you want it to be.
