Broomfield Civic Conversations – Is the U.S. Constitution Racist?

June 13 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Location: Wonderland Brewing Company

What if our prejudices that the Constitution is a racist, pro-slavery document are incorrect? What are the risks of ignoring the Constitution’s limits on government power all because we mistakenly assumed that the Constitution is irredeemably racist and we did not take the time to understand the real history of slavery in the United States? These are the subjects we will be exploring, while sipping beer and eating good food, during our second Broomfield Civic Conversation.

The evening will include a Speakeasy Ideas presentation by Thomas L. Krannawitter, Ph.D., who has for many years been researching, writing about, and teaching the history of slavery and the Civil War. Dr. Krannawitter’s book Vindicating Lincoln (Rowman & Littlefield, 2008) was featured by the History Book Club and was endorsed by the United States Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.

No registration necessary. Donations to the event coordinator are appreciated.
