THE BILL OF RIGHTS: GOOD FOR LIBERTY? OR BAD?
Join us at Golden View Classical Academy for a lively, public Bill of Rights Day seminar featuring Dr. Thomas Krannawitter.
Many Americans today assume that the Bill of Rights is a great protector for, if not the source of, their liberty. And many Americans are often surprised to learn that some of the leading Founders, including the authors of The Federalist Papers, were strongly opposed to a bill of rights, arguing that any bill of rights would be not only unnecessary, but positively dangerous to the cause of free self-government.
Dr. Krannawitter will discuss guns, religious liberty, free speech, and private property, and demonstrate how these subjects mean something strikingly different with a bill of rights versus without. It’s will be an exercise in thinking like a constitutionalist that all Americans should experience.
